Daniele Alexander
“I Know What I Do Know”

Daniele Alexander is a country music singer-songwriter and pianist best known for her smooth vocal style, strong songwriting abilities, and her late-1980s success on the country charts. Though her time in the national spotlight was relatively brief, Alexander earned respect within the Nashville music community for her talent as both a performer and songwriter, and she remains remembered for her distinctive blend of country, pop, and adult contemporary influences.

Born on December 2, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, Alexander developed an interest in music at an early age. She studied piano as a child and began performing professionally while still in her late teens. Her earliest musical experiences were rooted in jazz, and she spent years developing her skills as both a vocalist and pianist before moving into country music. During her early career, she worked extensively in clubs, lounges, and casinos, particularly in Las Vegas, where she gained valuable stage experience and developed her polished performance style.

Eventually, Alexander moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting and recording opportunities. Her talent as a writer led to publishing deals, and she worked creating demos and session recordings before attracting the attention of Mercury Records. In 1989, she released her debut album, First Move, produced by noted Nashville producer Harold Shedd. The album’s lead single, “She’s There,” which Alexander wrote herself, became a Top 20 country hit, reaching No. 19 on the Billboard country charts and establishing her as one of country music’s promising new female artists.

Her success brought national exposure, including appearances on country television outlets such as CMT and VH1. In 1990, she received a nomination for Top New Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music, placing her alongside emerging artists who would later become major stars.

Alexander followed with a second album, I Dream in Color, in 1991. Although it produced only modest chart success, it further showcased her vocal versatility and songwriting skills. After leaving Mercury Records, she continued writing music and later contributed songs recorded by other artists, including Mila Mason.

Though she never became a major mainstream superstar, Daniele Alexander remains respected as a talented singer-songwriter whose brief but memorable recording career reflected the changing sound of country music at the close of the 1980s.
